As I was looking through the leaderboards and weekend results, I couldn’t help but notice what a fabulous weekend it was for golfers from the UK! So happy to see the “return” of Padraig Harrington at the Honda, but he wasn’t the only Brit to make a splash (sorry for the PGA National pun). Paul Casey, Luke Donald, Jamie Donaldson and Russell Knox all placed in the top ten and were it not for a double on 11 followed by a triple bogey on 14, we’d all be talking about the return of Ian Poulter.
On the European Tour stop in South Africa, England’s Andy Sullivan was victorious with three other Brits tied for 2nd including Kevin Phelan, who I had the opportunity to interview at The Ritz Carlton U.S. Open Qualifier back in 2013.
And if that weren’t enough, young phenom Charley Hull battled world #1 Lydia Ko in the New Zealand Women’s Open before fading late, still carding a top 10 finish.
Why do I find myself already excited about Hazeltine?
