Capri Isles and The West Florida Am Tour

This week’s show had a local focus as we had special guests, Mike Cummings, PGA Head Professional from Capri Isles Golf Club and Ross Hanson from the West Florida Am Tour.

meet-Cummings_MikeCapri Isles is one of three courses owned by the Golf In Venice group and really is one of Venice’s best golf experiences.  I had the chance to play there on Friday and couldn’t have had a better afternoon. The greens are PERFECT, meaning that birdies were dropping left and right, but don’t be fooled! From the back tees (playing about 6600 yards) Capri Isles is a demanding test of golf and with water in play on every single hole, !  Head Golf Professional, Mike Cummings has been on staff for over twenty years and he and his staff do a fabulous job!  Coming up in December, Capri Isles is hosting the 41st Annual Crest Cadillac of Venice Men’s Best Ball Championship on December 5-6th.  This two day event features incredible prizes and competition and even a chance to drive home a brand new Cadillac!  To register, call (941) 485-3371 or visit www.GolfInVenice.com

We also welcomed in Ross Hanson from the West Florida Am Tour.  The “Am” Tour allows local amateurs to play the same courses as the West ROSS DSC01636Florida Golf Tour with the same tournament conditions and set-up and at a fraction of the cost that they would normally pay to play the areas best private courses.  Players compete in a Quota Points game with an optional Skins game and The Am Tour tracks season long results and standings.  Tournaments are played on Mondays and you can find out more information at www.WestFloridaAmTour.com

On This Week’s Show – 2/28/15

Gonna be a busy morning this week as we welcome in a friend of the show and official fitness trainer, James Wwhatmorehatmore from Whatmore Performance Training.  James will tell us all about his new facility, the pros he is working with, and he’ll have more insight than you probably care to hear about Tiger’s firing glutes!

We also welcome in local legend and Long Drive Champion, Kevin Shook for the first time on “Tee It Up With Nate Ditchfield”.  Kevin will tell us about his decorated career and how he hits the ball over 400 yards!
